I want to post a quick update. As some of you noticed, the site had a bit of downtime late last week. I’m sorry that I was unable to post a notice before hand, but I had to undergo emergency server maintenance and I needed to recreate all of my websites from scratch. Although we weren’t allowed to take any pictures during the event due to our non-disclosure agreements, I did take some pictures of campus, Seattle fall colors, and some nice views of Mt. Rainier. If you are so [...] I have upgraded this site to the last development version of WordPress. This is in preparation for the (hopefully) simple upgrade to 2.3 on Monday (if I had to update during the week, it would never happen…) This is a sanity test posting. I have completed all of the optimizations and upgrades for the weblog. It took me longer than I expected but everything is working smoothly now. With some of my “Engineering” stress relieved, I am finally emerging from the mountains of work that have been overcoming me for the past few months. In this interim, I have [...] OK, so where have I been for the last month? The past month has been filled with many projects that are taking place at the office and a few new home projects. Among these include: Setting up a branch office infrastructure, complete with a wireless WAN backbone and a restructuring of office resources. And this [...] OK, if you are able to see this, then the DNS changes have propogated to your system… The story: My hosting provider for the past year has been excellent up to about two months ago. At that time, things started to slow down significantly. The MySQL database server was down (or otherwise unavailable) for periods [...] OK, I am done with this hiatus due to my extreme workload at work… I have been active again in the newsgroups after a LONG absence (if you think the frequency of my blog postings have been pathetic – it is nothing like my absence from the newsgroups since September last year).
